In the truck & the kitchen drawer
The shoebox of receipts
Fuel slips in the console, supplier invoices in a drawer, parts receipts in your phone photos. Nothing’s lost, exactly — it’s just nowhere you can use it.
Sanav Books is bookkeeping built only for trade contractors — plumbers, HVAC and electricians. Receipts sorted, GST tracked, your books reconciled every single month, and polite reminders sent for unpaid invoices — for one flat rate. The paperwork pile that’s been holding your business back? It’s ours now.
For most owner-operators, the books eat 6–10 hours a month — usually on Sunday nights, usually behind. If any of this is your house right now, you’re exactly who Sanav Books is for.
In the truck & the kitchen drawer
Fuel slips in the console, supplier invoices in a drawer, parts receipts in your phone photos. Nothing’s lost, exactly — it’s just nowhere you can use it.
After supper, again
The job’s done, but the invoice hasn’t gone out — so the customer hasn’t paid. Late invoices are the quietest cash-flow killer in the trades.
Every quarter, like clockwork
The return is due, the numbers are in three different piles, and your accountant needs a clean summary you don’t have. Stress, on a deadline, four times a year.
At year-end
When the year arrives in a box, your accountant bills accountant rates to sort it out. A tidy year-end package from us makes their job — and their invoice — smaller.
One flat monthly rate covers the whole paperwork pile. No hourly meter running, no surprise bills.
Sanav Books works with owner-operated trade shops — roughly 1 to 10 people — in Calgary and across Alberta. We learn how your trade actually bills, buys and gets paid, instead of handing you a generic small-business checklist.
Service calls all day, emergency calls at night — and a glovebox full of parts receipts in between.
Furnace season buries you in installs and no-heat calls. The books shouldn’t be one more breakdown.
Between rough-ins, finals and service work, material costs pile up per job — and so does the paper.
Run a different trade shop — landscaping, renovations, general contracting? If you’re an Alberta contractor with 1–10 people and a paperwork pile, the same system fits. Ask us on the call.
Two plans, priced in Canadian dollars. Retainers bill on the 1st of the month. No lock-in — cancel with 30 days’ notice.
For the contractor drowning in a shoebox of receipts.

Behind on the books? Start with a cleanup.
Starting a few months behind is the normal starting point. Cleanups are one flat fee — you know the whole cost before we start, and it never depends on how long the work happens to take us. Once you’re current, a monthly plan keeps you there. Year-end close for your accountant: flat $250.
Small cleanup
$300 flat
1–3 months behind, one bank or credit card account, statements ready to go.
Medium cleanup
$600 flat
3–6 months behind, a couple of accounts, some receipts missing or unsorted.
Large cleanup
from $1,200 flat
6–12+ months behind, multiple accounts, or statements in rough shape. Final price set after a free look at your books — before any work starts.
Not sure which size yours is? We’ll take a quick free look and confirm one flat price in writing before any work starts — no hourly billing, ever.
All prices CAD. No contract, no lock-in — 30-day cancellation on every plan.
No office visits, no onboarding marathon. Phone, email and screen share — that’s the whole operation.
Step 1
We ask who does your books now, how far behind you are, and where the receipts live. In the first 5 minutes we’ll tell you straight whether we can actually help — no pitch if we can’t.
Step 2
Months of backlog get cleared first for one flat fee — $300 for a small cleanup, $600 for a medium one, and large cleanups from $1,200 with the final price set after a free look at your books. You approve the full price before any work starts.
Step 3
Snap receipts with your phone or drop them in a shared folder. Statements come to us digitally. That’s your whole job from here on.
Step 4
Books reconciled every month, a plain-English summary in your inbox, GST ready before every deadline, and a tidy package for your accountant at year-end.
“Sanav” was chosen for one reason: the feeling you get when a weight comes off. That’s the product. Everything below is how we keep delivering it.
We don’t do restaurants, retail or realtors. Just trade contractors — so your books are handled by someone who knows what a service call, a supply house run and a progress invoice actually are.
Every summary and every number — explained like we’d explain it across a workbench. If you need a glossary to read your own profit report, we’ve failed.
One monthly price, agreed before we start, billed on the 1st. No hourly billing on your retainer, no lock-in, and a 30-day exit if it’s ever not worth it.
No — and we’ll say that on every call. Sanav Books prepares, organizes and reconciles your books month to month. Tax filing and tax advice stay with your CPA. What changes is what you hand them: a clean, reconciled year instead of a box, which usually means a smaller year-end bill.
We track GST all quarter and prepare the complete return — every number worked out and ready. You (or your accountant) click submit. Preparing is the hard, time-eating part; that’s the part we take over.
It’s the normal starting point, honestly. We begin with a flat-fee catch-up cleanup — $300 for a small one, $600 for a medium one, and large cleanups from $1,200 with the final price set after a free look at your books — so you approve the whole cost before work starts. No hourly billing, ever. Once you’re current, a monthly plan keeps you there.
No. Plans bill monthly on the 1st and cancel with 30 days’ notice. We’d rather earn the next month than trap you in this one.
Phone photos or a shared digital folder — whatever you’ll actually do consistently. Everything is 100% remote: phone, email and screen share. No office visits, no dropping off boxes.
Owner-operated trade contractors in Calgary and across Alberta — plumbers, HVAC and electricians first, plus landscapers, renovators and other trade shops of roughly 1–10 people. If you’re outside the trades, we’ll tell you on the call and point you somewhere better suited.
Fifteen minutes. We ask about your current setup, how far behind the books are, and what’s eating your time. Then we recommend exactly one plan — or tell you honestly if you don’t need us yet. No pressure either way.
Tell us where the paperwork stands. We’ll reply to set up a short call, tell you in the first 5 minutes whether we can help, and recommend one plan if we can. That’s the whole pitch.
